Job description

Project Manager - Highway/Roadway

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager to be based in Los Angeles, CA for a critical role in our organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and administering highway and roadway projects
  • Providing leadership and strategic guidance to subordinate managers
  • Ensuring project construction adheres to specifications, budget, and schedule
  • Administering projects from budgeting and scheduling to procurement and contract closeout
  • Developing and implementing project management plans
  • Coordinating with internal departments for seamless project execution
  • Conducting regular project status meetings
  • Managing and mitigating project risks
  • Preparing and submitting all required project documentation
  • Collaborating with business development teams for new opportunities
  • Mentoring and developing junior project management staff
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other Engineering discipline + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer license and ability to obtain California PE within twelve months if not currently registered in California.
  • Ability to proactively communicate and lead department staff.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience which reflect a progressively increasing level of leadership and responsibility.
  • Experience with business development and client relations.
  • Project management experience leading small to medium sized highway projects; well-versed in all aspects of project development.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
