That's why we offer personal care, palliative care and hospice to give people the care they need with dignity, grace, and love.As a Certified Hospice Aide / Certified Nursing Assistant (per diem), you will : + Report directly to the Administrator, Executive Director or Patient Care Manager Senior and function under the direction, instruction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and / or Clinical Supervisor.+ Help the patient to maintain good personal hygiene.+ Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.+ Prepare and serve light meals.+ Assist in feeding patient when needed.+ Assist the patient in ambulation.+ Assist with the safe use of a walker or wheelchair as taught and supervised by the nurse.+ Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as emptying trash and changing linens.+ Assist with certain treatments as ordered on the aide plan of care and as allowable in state-specific regulations.+ Attempt to promote patient's mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest.+ Give basic emotional and psychological support to the patient and other members of the household.+ Report any change in the patient's mental or physical condition or home situation to the Registered Nurse and members of the interdisciplinary team.+ Demonstrate basic care to the primary caregiver.+ Practice infection control measures and standard precautions.+ Provide accurate documentation with visit itineraries+ Attend staff meetings.+ Participate in at least one Quality Improvement activity yearly, as assigned by supervisor.+ Complete documentation in a timely manner as outlined in orientation.About YouHospice Aide / CNA Requirements : + Hospice heart : compassionate, kind and empathetic to your patients and their families.+ Comfortable providing care wherever the patient calls "home".+ Demonstrate flexibility and composure while supporting others in a time of crisis.+ Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.+ Six (6) months of patient care experience in hospice, home health, ICU, geriatric, or oncology strongly preferred.+ Additional, preferred experience to help you be successful in a hospice role : hospital Staff RN, Med Surg, PACU, Float pool, ER or emergency room, critical care, acute care, cardiac, geriatric, admissions, wound care, telemetry, nursing home or travel.+ Current driver's license and automobile insurance.+ Current CPR certificationGentiva is a family of industry-leading hospice, palliative and personal care providers.
