You must effectively communicate and work with a diverse population. Support the Care Alliance Health Center clinical team by rooming patients, securing medical information and records, coding information for insurance purposes, drawing blood, and adhering to the American Association of Medical Assistants Code of Ethics./ppRequirements/ppCompetencies:/pp*Include but are not limited to:/pp Greet and check in patients arriving at the clinic./pp Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality./pp Prepare patients to be seen by provider./pp Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians instructions to patients./pp Administer medications/immunizations as directed by a provider./pp Collect and prepare lab specimens./pp Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies./pp Perform basic lab tests./pp Assist with medical exams and procedures./pp Provide proper documentation in patient medical records (i.e., collecting correct demographic and health information from patients)/pp Assist with intake and discharge functions./pp Keep clinic areas clean and organized to provide a safe environment./pp Commitment to the mission of Care Alliance Health Center/ppMinimum Education and Experience:/ppRequired:/pulliMust have certification from a medical assistant program./liliOne to two years of recent experience in a medical setting./liliHave a high school diploma, bachelors degree, or equivalent./liliA basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures (CPT, ICD-10) reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for medical assistant practice scope./liliExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills./liliFamiliarity with electronic medical health care record systems, preferably EPIC/li/ul/div
