Engineering Technician I

Job Summary

The Engineering Technician I supports engineering and production teams by performing technical tasks related to product assembly, testing, documentation, and process support. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build hands-on experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment while following established procedures and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Assist engineers with the setup, testing, and evaluation of products, components, or systems

Perform basic assembly, disassembly, and modification of parts and equipment

Collect, record, and analyze test data and results

Follow engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and standard operating procedures

Identify and report equipment malfunctions or process issues

Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reports

Support continuous improvement and process optimization efforts

Comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical coursework or associate degree preferred

Basic mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude

Ability to read and understand technical documents and instructions

Proficient with basic hand tools and measurement devices

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Basic computer skills (data entry, email, documentation)

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, sit, and move for extended periods

Ability to lift up to 25–40 lbs as required

Manual dexterity for handling small components and tools

Work Environment

Manufacturing, laboratory, or production setting
