Steve Brown Apartments, a leader in Madison's rental market since 1980, is looking for a professional leader to join our management team.
Your Role.
As the Hospitality & Property Manager at Lucky Apartments in downtown Madison, you'll bridge the best of hospitality and multifamily living, creating a welcoming, service-driven environment while ensuring the property runs smoothly behind the scenes. You'll be the face of the community-approachable, professional, and attentive-setting the standard for a living experience that feels both personalized and effortless.
You'll lead your team by example, fostering a culture where residents enjoy the thoughtful service of a fine resort with the comforts of home. At the same time, you'll manage the operational essentials-overseeing budgets, managing sales, coordinating move-ins & move-outs, scheduling vendors & projects, and keeping your team aligned with the highest standards.
This is a highly visible role where no two days are the same. From welcoming new residents to solving challenges with professionalism, you'll balance people-first service with operational excellence, team leadership, and problem-solving-merging hospitality and apartment living into something exceptional.
What It Takes.
The ideal candidate is a strong, results-driven leader with an outgoing, polished, and professional presence. You're a natural communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, high-touch environment, balancing hospitality-level service with operational excellence. Competitive yet approachable, you take pride in delivering an exceptional resident experience.
You must be highly organized, customer-focused, and adaptable-understanding the demands of a 24 / 7 / 365 industry. A bachelor's degree and at least two years of hospitality or related experience are required for this leadership role.
A refined, professional demeanor-both in service and appearance-is essential. This is one of the few roles in our company that requires business professional attire to reflect the elevated hospitality experience we provide.
What You Get in Exchange.
You will receive a competitive salary with potential of annual profit sharing. You'll also benefit from our training and social events, recognition programs, complete medical and dental plans, supplemental insurance, paid time off, a company-matched 401k plan, and continuing education reimbursement. Our attentive senior leadership team works alongside you, including the on-site Regional Manager you'll report to.
When We'll See You.
As a full-time employee, you'll work on-site generally Monday-Friday, 8 : 30 a.m. to 5 p.m., flexing your schedule as needed, and participating in the Manager On-Duty rotation.
We're Unexpectedly Kind and Unapologetically Driven.
As a locally owned, privately managed company, Steve Brown Apartments is dedicated to improving and supporting the community we call home. Our commitments to quality and service and our unwavering focus on providing our residents with a hassle-free living experience have made us one of Madison's favorite rental companies and a four-time winner of Madison Magazine's Best Places to Work.
Our Application Process.
Applications and resumes are required. All potential candidates are scheduled for a 15-minute phone call, and those we'd like to meet are invited to interview on-site or virtually if you're not local. We typically interview each candidate at least twice, sometimes up to four times, before making an offer. We hire for the long-term, not for the moment, and take the time to get it right.
