Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE :
Provide organization, instruction and guidance to members of the Housekeeping staff. Ensure completion of daily objectives while maintaining Five Star Service standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Average Percent of Time
45% Distribute / delegate room and cleaning assignments to Housekeeping team members.
25% Interview, Select and train Housekeeping team members in proper work procedures and techniques.
15% Supervise and Monitor work performance of team members by conducting room inspections. Provide coaching and counseling of team members and conduct performance reviews when needed.
45% 10% Plan and conduct staff meetings to ensure open communication amongst team members. Attend various operational related meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
Participate in Lobby Greeter and Manager on Duty Program requiring weekend stay over, constant monitoring throughout the hotel and troubleshooting problems.
Assist room attendants and house persons in securing all supplies and tools necessary for the completion of daily tasks.
Monitor proper use and compliance with hazardous chemicals and the Hazcom program.
Expedite all requests by guests.
Other duties as requested.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements / controls and applications of relevant chemicals.
Basic mathematical skills to prepare moderately complex calculations for financial reporting.
Supervisory skills.
Ability to deal effectively with Associates, vendors, contractors, etc.
Ability to coordinate and cooperate with other departments regarding Housekeeping services and activities.
Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
Ability to exercise independent judgment.
Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly in English with guests and staff as is necessary to effectively run the department and service customer needs.
Ability to read and write basic English in order to complete necessary reports and understand instructions / information.
Ability to organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent required. College degree preferred with emphasis in Hospitality.
EXPERIENCE
At least 3 years’ experience in supervisory / management position in hotel Housekeeping. Forbes rated hotel experience desirable.

GROOMING
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and / or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
OTHER
Additional language ability is strongly preferred.
