Description of Job
Job Summary :
This position exists to perform Journeyman level painting, taping, and protective coatings on equipment, sealing masonry, varnishing, refinishing wood, and painting both interior and exterior surfaces. Coordinate task list / schedule of repairs or enhancements needed in each space to maintain quality standards for each space.
Essential Job Functions :
General Maintenance :
- Reviews and prioritize work orders daily.
- Performs building maintenance painting through visual, physical inspections and repairs of campus building walls and surfaces as assigned by the Paint Shop Supervisor.
- Provide Journeyman level repairs and painting by applying coats of paint, varnish, stain, lacquer, or other finishes to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trims, and other fixtures of building structures, equipment or furniture.
- Remove old finish, prepares surfaces, makes necessary repairs, mixes or matches and applies finish-using brush, roller, airless, HVLP sprayer, cup gun, spray pot or other applicable method on existing surfaces, remodeled spaces and new construction.
