Job description

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR :

The ideal Housekeeping Inspector for Bear Creek is a guest service focused individual with the ability to help create a positive, memorable experience for our guests. The successful team member will be able to work with their team as well as individually, have good communication skills, be detail oriented and foster the Bear Creek culture by focusing on our guests. This position will be an important member of the Housekeeping team, responsible for ensuring guest rooms are inspected to meet our high standards of cleanliness.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU :

  • Responsible for the cleanliness and condition of the resort, including The Hotel, guest rooms

and other assigned areas

  • Maintain a high degree of floor presence to supervise team and inspect rooms cleaned by
  • assigned team members using designated checklists

  • Provide appropriate feedback and coaching directly to team members regarding any
  • deficiencies

  • Perform job duties required of a Housekeeper
  • Delegate work as appropriate, stating clearly objectives and time-line requirements.
  • Communicate additions or changes to the assignment sheets as they arise throughout the shift

  • Effectively supervise team through respectful communication, clear expectations, relevant
  • training, productive coaching, participating in regular team meetings, and collaborating with

    manager for team performance management

  • Update room status after approving cleanliness and condition in accordance with departmental
  • standards

  • Verify room status on A.M. report, report discrepant rooms; prioritize and update status of
  • check-out rooms

  • Monitor and evaluate team's successful completion of work
  • Lead by example, be a positive example for team in action and attitude
  • Encourage effective teamwork
  • Work collaboratively with others to analyze and improve work processes
  • Positive interaction with all levels of management and vendors
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment

  • WHAT WE EXPECT FROM ALL BCMR TEAM MEMBERS :

  • Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time
  • of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager / Supervisor

  • Familiarity with all hotel services / features and local attractions / activities to respond to guest
  • inquiries accurately

  • Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and
  • standards

  • Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
  • Understand emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
  • Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager / Supervisor

  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • 2 years demonstrated cleaning / housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospitality environment
  • 2 years demonstrated supervisory experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Availability during peak operating times, i.e. : weekends, holidays and special events
  • JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS :

  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling
  • Previous guest relations training
  • Ability to work independently
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
