Overview

We are looking for a strategic Organizational Development Director to join our growing organization. You will be responsible for developing and managing initiatives that improve the organization’s effectiveness and efficiency. Key areas of focus will include providing innovative solutions and continuous improvement around performance management, talent planning, talent development, employee experience and engagement, succession planning, and change management.

Location : This position can be located at or near any of our office locations : Fargo, ND; Indianapolis, IN; Clinton, IN; Centennial, CO; Austin, TX; Birmingham, AL; Tempe, AZ; or Phoenix, AZ. If located within 30 minutes from an office location, we work an onsite schedule. We are also open to a remote role with ability to travel to our office locations to support training events or department activities, based on the experience and skillset of the individual identified.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, management, and direction to the Learning Programs, LMS, and Instructional Design teams
  • Responsible for providing vision, directing, and managing department initiatives to support a diverse and talented workforce
  • Lead a team responsible for providing program support for performance management, talent and succession planning, employee experience, and engagement
  • Strategically advise, consult, and coach leaders on development capabilities to achieve business outcomes
  • Measure the process and effectiveness of Talent Management programs through the use of metrics and workforce analytics and takes action to continually improve
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to design and create onboarding, development, and leader assimilation programs to accelerate performance
  • Consult with business leaders to develop individual group talent plans that align to their business, maximize talent capabilities, and identify and mitigate talent risks
  • Consider the costs of planned programs and keeping within budgets. Assess the return on investment (ROI) of training and development programs and measures the impact of training and transfer of knowledge
  • Provide direction to all internal and external Subject Matter Experts and departmental trainers to ensure training consistency across CE&I
  • Support 360 assessment strategy, including the design and delivery of administration, interpretation, and coaching on results
  • Keep current on external trends, development innovations, or activities that could impact talent, organizational capabilities, and leadership development
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and / or external training providers to select, design, develop, customize and or schedule appropriate technical and non-technical training and performance improvement initiatives
  • Act as a liaison and develop relationships with vendors and / or external organizations to identify, research and recommend additional training resources, courses and / or instructors
  • Ensure maintenance of all documentation and resources for the training programs including databases, course materials, SOP’s, enrollment records, intranet content, and evaluations
  • Manage contracts, venues, and invoicing for courses and internal training
  • Manage capital requests and department budget
  • Travel requirement – 10%, or as needed based on business demands

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource development, organizational development, education, business, or related field
  • Master’s degree in organizational efficiency, Organizational Development, or Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Adult Education, or related field preferred
  • 10 years’ experience developing, delivering, and evaluating technical and non-technical training course materials, including leadership, functional and soft skills training
  • Advanced certifications and training in 360 assessments, competency modeling, DE&I curricula, and change management methodologies preferred
  • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to assimilate and organize technical and other content provided by subject matter experts into engaging and meaningful training modules and user tools
  • Ability to moderate large groups with varied experience; use creative presentation and facilitator techniques that inform and engage the audience
  • Ability to successfully engage and work with employees all around the company at different levels, in different disciplines, and with different interpersonal styles and work collaboratively
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills; ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change
