Hours : Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

Pay : $77,300 to 86,300

Position Summary

This position is accountable for the operation, personnel management, and the service to customers within a specified geographic region.

Essential Functions

  • Promote and develop safe work behaviors in line with the company's safety programs and objectives
  • Provide coaching on safety protocols and video telematics to improve driver safety and fleet operations
  • Monitor hours of service for drivers; maintain compliance with all company and government regulations and policies
  • Investigate safety incidents and accidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Supervise performance of drivers to achieve incident free deliveries of every load
  • Lead, manage, evaluate, and develop staff personnel
  • Supervise and directly manage the load planning and dispatching of drivers to ensure timely, safe, and efficient deliveries
  • Forecast terminal performance; evaluate performance and take corrective action to meet expense and financial forecast
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and address any concerns
  • Engage local customers regularly to drive growth and enhance relationships
  • Ensure maximum asset utilization
  • Be available on-call to address urgent matters and provide support outside of regular working hours
  • Demonstrate flexibility with work hours to accommodate the dynamic nature of terminal operations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business related field or equivalent business experience in the transportation industry
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience with dispatching and managing vehicle operations
  • Knowledge of safety regulations in the trucking industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and dispatch software and systems
