Essential Duties
- Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures
- Administer Benefits, Payroll and Compensation programs through subordinate staff, provide guidelines, and develop SOP's
- Manages and evaluates both the compensation and benefits functions for the company.
- Participate in the design of plans, salaries and incentives, job evaluation, performance appraisal, life and health insurance, disability and 401K program.
- Manage return to work program and employee injuries, collaborating with Safety, Management and employees
- Investigate and resolve benefit and payroll issues in accordance with company policy, regulations and business needs
- Partner with the Training & Development Department to deliver leader and employee training
- Act as a corporate liaison for HR related projects and functions
- Stay abreast of all changing benefit, payroll and regulatory information and communicate these changes to appropriate personnel
- Provide confidential support / counseling to employees as needed
- Demonstrate an understanding of the vision, purpose and strategy of the Company and how this aligns with HR strategy
- Build credible relationships with key management, business stakeholders and peers by using HR expertise to add value to the business
- Provide guidance to managers on how to effectively manage change within the organization, such as department reorganizations, leadership changes, and role restructuring
- Participate on committees and special projects and seek additional responsibilities
- Respond to employee inquiries, issues and problems relating to benefits, leaves of absence, payroll, compensation and ensures timely and appropriate action
- Prepare reports and information for both internal and external stakeholders
- Supervise, recruit, retain, mentor, train, and recognize direct reports. Conduct performance appraisals and make wage recommendations.
