About the Role
Oakes Auto Group is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead and oversee all HR functions across our organization. This role partners closely with ownership and executive leadership to build strong people strategies, ensure compliance, and create a consistent, positive employee experience across all locations. Founded in 2010, Oakes Auto Group is family-owned and locally operated. Our culture is built on stability, growth, and long-term career development. What You’ll Do
Lead all HR functions including employee relations, onboarding, training, performance management, and compliance
Develop, maintain, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and best practices across all locations
Serve as a strategic partner to ownership and executive leadership on people-related initiatives and decisions
Oversee and support recruiting and HR support teams
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Handle sensitive employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion
Support leadership development, succession planning, and retention strategies
Partner with payroll and finance to ensure accuracy and compliance
Drive a consistent and positive employee experience across all stores
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a confident, approachable HR leader who is comfortable balancing strategy with day-to-day execution. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and experienced navigating complex people matters while building trust across all levels of the organization.
Requirements
Proven experience in an HR Director, HR Manager, or senior HR leadership role
Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
Experience supporting multi-location or multi-entity organizations preferred
Strong computer skills and experience with HR systems
Familiarity with the following platforms is a plus :
EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System)
Hireology
Culture Index
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or similar certification preferred
Valid driver’s license with a clean or acceptable driving record
Ability to pass a standard background check
Strong reliability and consistent attendance
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, people-focused environment
