We specialize in customized, turn-key solutions to ensure safe, secure, and reliable power distribution. Crown Technical Systems is headquartered in Fontana, California, with additional production and engineering facilities in Garland, Texas, and Ontario, Canada.
Job Summary :
The Shop Helper will be responsible for assisting with prepping, grinding, sanding, and cleaning of sheet metal and steel material. This individual will also assist machine operators and welders with assigned tasks to complete the fabrication of materials.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
None.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Cut material in preparation for fabrication or processing
- Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment
- Assist machine operators (press brake, punch press, and laser) with loading and unloading items from the machines
- Assist welders with structural welds by holding materials in place
- Transfer raw materials, finished products, tools, or equipment between work areas on the production floor using powered equipment (ex. Forklifts)
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Complete other related duties as assigned
