Appliance Technician (HVAC)

Position Summary

The Appliance Technician reports to the Assistant Facilities Engineer. Their duties include but are not limited to, the following : Installation, maintenance, and repair of all types of appliances, e.g. ranges, refrigerators, walk-in coolers, dishwashing machines, meat slicers, refrigerators, washing machines, coffee urns, ranges, dryers, air conditioners, compressors, vacuum cleaners, small floor machines, both domestic and commercial, etc.

Principal Accountabilities

• Installation, maintenance, and repair of all types of appliances, e.g., ranges, refrigerators, walk-in coolers, dishwashing machines, meat slicers, refrigerators, washing machines, coffee urns, ranges, dryers, air conditioners, compressors, vacuum cleaners, small floor machines, both domestic and commercial, etc.
• Provide backup as required for HVAC equipment such as refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, cold storage, air handling, and pneumatic systems, electrical and pneumatic control systems, pumps, fans, hot water heaters, condensers, chillers, and other auxiliary equipment and / or components.

Qualifications

Working Environment

Position requires working in awkward, uncomfortable positions such as kneeling, stooping, bending, stretching, etc.; working on or from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, small hard-to-get-at-places, etc. The incumbent is also exposed to working in severe weather conditions, e.g., heat, cold, rain, snow, etc. Physical strength is required in lifting, carrying, and positioning large heavy equipment.
