The HVAC Mechanic reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Lead HVAC Tech, HVAC or Site Supervisor, including, but not limited to :

• Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities
• Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site
• Maintains, repairs, and replaces or installs a broad range of HVAC equipment and support systems for operation and maintenance activities
• Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up activities
• Services and repairs environmental-control systems using knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, structural layout, and troubleshooting
• Mounts compressor, condenser units, air handler using hand tools following blueprint, engineering specifications and manufacture recommendations
• Repairs and fabricates ductwork using sheet metal hand tools and shop fabrication equipment
• Measures, cuts and assembles PVC and copper tubing and fittings, including braze / soldering copper / copper, copper / brass, and copper / steel
• Connects blower motors (1 / 4-70hp), compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and connect control panels to power source
• Troubleshoots and replaces defective breaker controls, contactors, thermostats, switches, fuses and electrical wiring to repair installed units using electricians hand tools
• Installs, repairs, replaces, maintains, troubleshoots, and services air conditioners, condensing units, air cooled chillers, walk in coolers / freezers, air handlers, gas / oil fired steam / hot water boilers, furnaces, RTUs and MAUs, from motorized lifts , ladders, catwalks and roofs in extreme hot and cold weather
• Works independently, must be self-motivated
• Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment
• Other duties as assigned
• QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be a high school graduate or GED
• 4 years Journey-Level experience
• CFC certified; HVAC License preferred
• DDC Controls and Heavy Refrigeration experience needed
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials / authorization. Note : US Citizenship is required for facility credentials / authorization at this work location.
• For positions requiring use of a Company and / or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record within the past 36 months, as defined by Company policy.
• RATE

Pay rate will be dependent upon certification level. HVAC Mechanic : $40.32 + $8.34 - $10.96 H&W, Heavy Equipment Operator : $31.74 + $8.34 - $10.96 H&W

• Requirements & Skills :

High School Diploma or GED, Min. of 4 years Journey-Level experience. CFC certified. An HVAC License preferred. DDC Controls and Heavy Refrigeration experience needed. Must have and maintain a valid drivers license. Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
