ICU Nurse Manager

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.

We are seeking an experienced ICU Nurse Manager (Full Time). Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall delivery and quality of patient care provided in the designated area(s) of responsibility. The manager assists with developing and implementing performance initiatives, ensuring optimal patient safety outcomes, and customer satisfaction. This position responsibilities include managing daily work activities, ensuring quality, productivity and efficiency while assisting in accomplishing strategic and operational objectives.

Job Duties:

• Oversees daily operations of the ICU, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
• Manages staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation based on patient acuity and census
• Leads, coaches, and evaluates nursing staff to promote clinical excellence and professional development
• Monitors key performance indicators (e.g., patient outcomes, LOS, infection rates, staff engagement) and drives improvement initiatives
• Ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and unit performance
• Supports recruitment, retention, and staff engagement strategies
• Oversees budget, productivity, and supply management
• Promotes evidence-based practice, quality, and patient safety initiatives
• Addresses patient, family, and staff concerns while fostering a positive work environment

Qualifications:

• DC RN license required
• Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CCRN preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU Nurse Management experience in an acute care setting
