Talis Group’s company client is a well-established law firm in Louisville, KY, seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Civil Defense Litigation Paralegal to join their team. The ideal candidate will provide critical support to attorneys handling workers' compensation defense cases, ensuring the efficient management of litigation files and compliance with legal procedures. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.
Highlighted Responsibilities :
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of workers' compensation defense litigation, from case inception to resolution.
- Conduct legal research and summarize case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to workers' compensation matters.
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and other case-related meetings.
- Gather, organize, and analyze medical records, employment records, and other evidence relevant to claims.
- Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, medical providers, and expert witnesses.
- Maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly organized and deadlines are met.
- Prepare trial exhibits and assist attorneys with trial preparation.
- Manage electronic and hard-copy case filings, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
