UI Community HomeCare is seeking a Reimbursement Specialist to fill a full-time position at our Iowa City office.
This is a Monday- Friday, day shift position with no weekends.
UI Community HomeCare works closely with neighborhoods and communities throughout eastern Iowa to provide high quality health care services.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing and processing claims for home infusion therapy / enteral nutrition to ensure timely and accurate reimbursements from insurance providers. This position works closely with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to resolve billing issues and ensure optimal reimbursements and services rendered.
Position Responsibilities
- Performs billing for home infusion therapy and enteral nutrition services ensuring claims are submitted accurately and timely according to payer regulations.
- Ensures that all necessary documentation and / or authorizations have been obtained by the intake department prior to billing as it relates to payer requirements, standard operating procedures, and compliance programs.
- Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication and a professional relationship with patients, co-workers, and outside facilities.
- Documents any communication between patients and payers in the data system.
- Attends and participates in meetings.
- Prepare and submit appeals for denied claims, providing necessary documentation and justification.
- Resolve patient concerns and provide feedback to management on means to achieve goals and resolve future service issues.
- Performs collections duties within billing software.
- Collects payments from patients as well as counsels patients regarding payment plans.
- Duties to be satisfactorily performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.
