Position Overview
We are actively seeking an innovative and dynamic leader to serve as the Chair for the Department of Biomedical Informatics. This crucial role will shape the future of the department by cultivating excellence in clinical informatics education and pioneering research initiatives. The Chair will be entrusted with articulating a clear vision for the department's objectives and will lead the charge in recruiting, mentoring, and retaining a high-caliber team of faculty and staff.
This position will emphasize the significance of AI research and collaborative science to advance healthcare technologies. The successful candidate should possess either a PhD in a relevant field or an MD with specialized training in biomedical informatics, backed by a strong record of securing federal grant funding and demonstrating national prominence in teaching, patient care, or clinical research.
We are looking for a candidate with experience in multi-institutional collaborations and a solid background in administrative leadership, particularly one who has engaged passionately with diverse communities. Additionally, a robust network with healthcare partners is essential as we aim to enhance healthcare quality, safety, and efficiency through the application of biomedical informatics and AI.
