About the Role
The San Mateo County Transit District is seeking a forward-thinking IT Director, Applications to shape the future of its digital platforms. This pivotal role reports to the Chief Information & Technology Officer and leads the planning, development, and execution of enterprise and departmental applications across the District. You’ll oversee a diverse and essential technology portfolio—including ERP, EAM, GIS, CRM, SaaS, BI, and more—and work with stakeholders across SamTrans, Caltrain, and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority to ensure efficient, secure, and scalable technology operations.
Responsibilities
- Align enterprise technology with long term strategic goals
- Modernize and optimize business critical platforms used by thousands
- Translate business needs into agile, scalable application solutions
- Lead a high performing team through transformational projects
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, or related field
7+ years of experience deploying / managing IT applications such as ERP, BI, GIS, or custom systems
5+ years of leadership in IT applications, managing teams, projects, and budgets
Required Skills
Master’s degree in Technology or related field
Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft or other cloud ERP platforms
Deep knowledge of enterprise application lifecycle management
Strong understanding of ITIL, security protocols, and vendor management
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and project oversight
