Overview:

The Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) is responsible for exercising all regulatory and executive powers of the state with respect to legal gaming, including pari-mutuel wagering, cardrooms, slot machine facilities, oversight of gaming compacts, and other forms of gambling authorized by state law, excluding the Lottery, as well as directly enforcing Florida’s gaming laws and combatting illegal gambling activities.

The agency is overseen by five Commissioners who are appointed by the Governor, with Commissioners appointing an Executive Director who leads a team of more than 200 staff members. The mission of the Florida Gaming Control Commission is to preserve and protect the integrity of gaming activities through fair regulation, licensing, effective criminal investigation, and enforcement.

The Commission offers a supportive work environment that fosters growth and collaboration.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

The FGCC is looking for a motivated individual to play a key role in advancing our communications and outreach activities. This position offers hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and digital communications within a dynamic regulatory agency. The incumbent will work closely with the Communications Director to enhance FGCC’s public presence and engagement across multiple platforms. Duties include:
  • Creating, scheduling, and posting content to Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook;
  • Writing and editing social media captions and posts for clarity, accuracy, and engagement;
  • Monitoring social media channels daily; responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner;
  • Tracking engagement metrics and compiling weekly/monthly social media performance reports;
  • Assisting with social media strategy and campaign planning under the director’s guidance;
  • Researching trending topics and hashtags relevant to the gaming industry and regulatory environment; and
  • Maintaining a content calendar and organizing digital files for communications projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with social media management tools.
  • Basic graphic design or video editing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in public service, communications, or regulatory affairs.
