Inside Claims Rep, Total Loss - Remote

The Inside Claims Representative II Total Loss contributes to Wawanesa's goal of delivering an exceptional and consistent claims service experience through the fair and equitable adjustment of moderately complex auto total loss claims utilizing telephone and written correspondence, working directly with repair facilities, customers, and appraisers.

Job Duties

• Provide exceptional customer service through empathy, understanding of customer needs, and proactive handling
• Interpret policy wordings, determine policy coverage and ensure appropriate reserving
• Obtain and evaluate relevant information from sources such as appraisers, third party adjusters, contractors and repair facilities in order to quantify losses and validate total loss evaluation
• Negotiate settlement of total loss claims with insureds, claimants, and attorneys to reach fair and equitable settlements
• Communicate with repair facilities, lien holders, tow facilities, and other vendors to obtain relevant information to settle claim
• Coordinate services with vendors and service providers, such as rental and salvage
• Secure documents needed to process titles and salvage of vehicles
• Manage pending claims and workload timely and proactively to expedite total loss settlements
• Maintain accurate records based on company standards and policies within the claims system
• Remain up-to-date with legislative changes and trends in the insurance industry
• May also manage salvage inventory by resolving release issues, setting minimum bids, reviewing bid approval requests, reviewing aging inventory, and resolving title problems.
