Job Title : Retrofit Installer
Job Description
The Engineering Team in Auburn Hills is seeking Retrofit Mechanics to customize vehicles for testing, repair, and further customization. As a member of the retrofit team, you will perform part updates and rework on new and gently used vehicles, ranging from heavy to light repairs. You will be responsible for completing quality work, maintaining proper documentation, and following procedures.
Responsibilities
- Read service procedures as written by OEM service engineers.
- Access and utilize OEM systems for software flashing, labor guides, and service procedures.
- Evaluate repairs and diagnose issues when repairing a vehicle.
- Possess a complete variety of automotive tools and some specialty tools.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles.
- Conduct test drives and functionality tests on vehicles.
- Document any additional issues found and inform the Team Leader / Manager promptly.
- Work independently and complete projects without intervention.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the client team.
- Consistently meet labor time guidelines for various repairs.
- Work independently and off-site with minimal resources in various conditions.
- Maintain a clean workstation and work environment.

Work Environment
Technicians will have their own workstations with all tools readily available in a clean and spacious environment. While the facility is not temperature controlled, it remains comfortable with fans and vents. Technicians are expected to clean and organize their stations at the end of each shift. Openings are available on both 1st shift (6 : 00 am - 2 : 30 pm) and 3rd shift (9 : 00 pm - 5 : 30 am) with a $2+ / hour shift premium. Overtime and double time on Saturdays are optional.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00 / hr.
