Primary Function
At A.O. Smith, we recognize the critical role of an E-learning Instructional Designer in crafting impactful and engaging learning experiences for technical training content. We are looking for an E-learning Instructional Designer to join our team, contributing to the development of high-quality, interactive training material that supports our Enterprise Applications like SAP and Salesforce in a diverse, multi-language, global environment
Responsibilities
- Analyze learning needs in collaboration with business and application teams to identify key training requirements.
- Apply Instructional System Design (ISD) best practices using the ADDIE model.
- Design instructional content using innovative and interactive methods and technologies to enhance the learning process.
- Develop educational support materials, ensuring alignment with the needs of our audience and desired learning outcomes.
- Create and manage a centralized repository of modular training components, optimizing content reuse across various modules.
- Utilize version control systems to track changes, ensuring consistency and a systematic approach to scalable and adaptable content development.
- Collaborate with business analysts, subject matter experts, and key users to create effective educational content.
- Ensure consistency across functional teams by following a defined style guide and using standardized templates.
- Follow established, standardized project management processes to plan, document, manage and report on project status.
- Develop training material that aligns with accessibility guidelines and caters to our diverse, multi-language, global environment.
- Incorporate interactive elements like exercises, gamification, and assessments to create a captivating learning experience.
- Facilitate annual and real-time reviews to keep training material current, accurate, and in sync with system updates.
- Publish material to SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS) for effective assignment, progress tracking, and completion monitoring.
- Utilize Service Now knowledge management to ensure widespread availability of training material.
- Establish and track content usage and training effectiveness metrics.
- Develop customized learning paths and recommend courses based on specific roles within the organization.
