SUMMARY :

Assist the teacher in daily classroom and building activities. Classroom assignment / s and grades level / s are based on student need as determined by the administrator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Other duties may be assigned.

• Implement small group instruction based on student needs under direction of teacher.
• Work cooperatively, as a team, with other teachers and assistants.
• Follow plans to work with, motivate and engage various learners.
• Assemble needed materials for small group instruction or interventions.
• Use technology (e.g. computers, tablets, iPads) to maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance and other clerical functions.
• Communicate in written and verbal form with administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders.
• Perform recess, lunchroom and other duties as assigned.
• Assist with set up of classroom and prepare materials for specialized instructional units.
• Create and maintain educational bulletin board displays.
• Operate standard school equipment.
• Escort and supervise students as they move to and from various rooms.
• Attend training and implement various interventions and utilize positive behavior supports.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain regular attendance.
