We are recruiting on behalf of our client—an innovative and well-capitalized leader in the clean energy sector—for a Solar Design Engineer to support the development and execution of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar projects. This is a key opportunity for a technically skilled and highly motivated individual to work on transformative energy infrastructure in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
About the Role :
As a Solar Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing high-quality, cost-effective, and code-compliant solar PV systems. You will collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, production engineers, construction, and procurement teams to bring commercial-scale solar projects from concept through execution. This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment while advancing the clean energy transition.
Key Responsibilities :
- System Design & Engineering : Develop complete photovoltaic system designs for Commercial & Industrial sites, including DC and AC schematics, single-line diagrams, equipment selection, and array layouts.
- Software & Modeling : Use industry-standard software such as Helioscope, PVsyst, and AutoCAD to perform system modeling, performance simulations, and electrical design.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Coordinate with project managers, permitting teams, and installation crews to ensure seamless transitions from design through construction.
- Performance Analysis : Interpret and analyze site data, production metrics, and customer needs to optimize solar designs for both energy yield and financial performance.
- Compliance & Documentation : Ensure designs adhere to NEC, local AHJ requirements, utility interconnection guidelines, and internal quality control processes. Prepare full permit and construction document packages.
- Lifecycle Support : Contribute to design revisions and system optimizations during development, construction, and commissioning phases to resolve real-world constraints and opportunities.
