Job descriptionBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field. 2+ years of relevant industry experience. Proficiency in GNU / Linux command-line interfaces, Python, and JavaScript. Hands-on experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments and job schedulers. Expertise in bioinformatics workflow management tools such as Snakemake or Nextflow. Demonstrated experience with CI / CD pipelines and front-end development. Strong skills in developing and deploying bioinformatics workflows, statistical analysis, and data visualization. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
We are seeking a skilled Bioinformatics Engineer to join our clients in the Bay Area! This individual will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting genomic datasets, working with bioinformatics portals, and contributing to front-end development.
Pay Rate : $40-$50 / hr
Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive testing of bioinformatics software, pipelines, and workflows, utilizing various parameterizations and analyzing comparative results.
- Package bioinformatics tools, pipelines, and workflows for distribution via Bioconda and container repositories.
- Design and implement CI / CD workflows using GitHub Actions to automate unit testing, compile-time benchmarking, and performance regression analysis.
- Develop interactive front-end data visualization components for proteomics and multi-omics data.
- Prepare and deploy bioinformatics web applications (e.g., Dash, Shiny, Streamlit) to production servers for seamless accessibility.
