Key Responsibilities

• Measuring and Cutting Insulation : Measure and cut insulation materials (e.g., fiberglass, foam, cellulose, or mineral wool) to fit walls, pipes, ducts, or other surfaces using knives, saws, or shears.
• Abatement activities including asbestos, lead and additional hazardous materials- respirator use required
• Installing Insulation : Apply insulation to walls, ceilings, floors, pipes, or mechanical systems by stapling, taping, gluing, or mechanically fastening it in place.
• Sealing Joints and Gaps : Use caulk, tape, or weatherstripping to seal seams, joints, and gaps to prevent air leaks and improve energy efficiency.
• Fitting Protective Coverings : Install vapor barriers, protective jackets, or cladding over insulation, especially on pipes or equipment, to shield it from moisture, weather, or physical damage.
• Removing Old Insulation : Safely remove and dispose of old or damaged insulation materials, following environmental and safety regulations (e.g., handling asbestos if certified).
• Reading Blueprints : Interpret construction plans, schematics, or specifications to determine insulation requirements and placement .
