This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangements), with some in-state travel / field work.

Job Summary :

The Property Appraiser 4, County Services serves as a technical expert in the appraisal of all locally assessed property for ad valorem property taxation purposes. This role serves as liaison to county assessors throughout the state to provide technical expertise and assistance regarding applicable valuations and projects, and also provides continuing education via presentations, workshops, and roundtable discussions. Additionally, this role may be called upon to represent the Department as an expert witness to review, discuss, and defend values, both before judicial and administrative bodies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) :

Knowledge / Understanding

• Advanced knowledge of accepted ad valorem appraisal principles techniques and practices
• Knowledge of federal laws, the Arizona Constitution, Arizona Revised Statutes, Administrative rules and tax court cases pertaining to property tax
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial theory, and standard appraisal methods of property valuation
