An established Chicago litigation firm is seeking an experienced attorney to join its insurance coverage practice. This position offers an opportunity to work on complex and diverse matters involving construction, professional liability, property and casualty, serious personal injury, and wrongful death claims.
Position Highlights
- Experience Level: Minimum of 3 years of substantive insurance coverage experience.
- Practice Areas: Insurance coverage and defense litigation, including analysis of coverage issues, drafting opinions, and litigating declaratory judgment actions.
- Responsibilities: Independently handle all aspects of coverage and litigation matters, including:
- Drafting coverage opinions and dispositive motions
- Conducting and defending depositions (party and expert)
- Preparing for and assisting in trial
- Managing client relationships and case strategy
- Environment: Collaborative, fast-paced practice with strong mentorship and client interaction.
- Billable Hours: 1,900
- Competitive salary package.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active Illinois bar admission.
- MUST have a minimum of 3 years of direct Insurance Coverage and or Insurance Defense Litigation experience.
- Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases with minimal supervision.
- Portable business is welcome and will be considered in compensation discussions.
