Insurance Specialist

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

• Act as a liaison between patients, facility teammates, billing office and the corporate office to resolve patient insurance issues and / or concernsIdentify, resolve or escalate issues as appropriate for prompt and effective resolutionProactively build relationships with patientsProactively review patient lists with Social Workers and other clinic teammates to identify potential patient insurance issuesProactively build relationships with clinical and regional resources to emphasize and integrate Insurance Management prioritiesPartner with Social Workers to maintain awareness of patient insurance questions
• Assist Medicare patients with understanding their Chronic Special Needs Plan, Medicare and Medicare Advantage optionsProvide high-level of customer service to ensure patient questions or issues are addressed effectivelyProvide information to patients to help them find and / or secure the insurance coverage of their choice
• Manage and update tracking tools as appropriateReview trends with team and operational leadershipProvide monthly reporting and analysis on key metrics related to patient education and advocacyCompile monthly operations reviews on assigned patient portfolio
• Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as neededKnow, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company proceduresParticipate as requested in special projects and Insurance Management Team initiativesMentor team members as appropriate on Insurance Management practicesShadow new hires to mentor and to provide training as needed

Salary / Wage Range

18.50 - $28.00 / hour

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
