What's your day like?

As a Full-Time Preauthorization Intake Coordinator at Injury Management Organization, Inc. in Plano, you will play a crucial role in processing incoming requests for preauthorization from healthcare providers and injured employees. Your responsibilities will include collecting essential clinical data to support these requests, in order to forward for nurse review. You will efficiently compile, process, and maintain medical records while meticulously reviewing and labeling over 60 faxes daily to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with industry regulations.

Additionally, you will be tasked with entering vital data into our system, including demographics, medical history, extent of injury, diagnostic procedures, disputes, and treatment details. This position empowers you to leverage your knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes while actively contributing to our mission in workers compensation.

Once training is completed you will be eligible for the hybrid schedule, 2 days in office, 3 days remote.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

• Minimum 2 years Preauthorization experience
• Prefer some college
• High School graduate or GED
• ICD-9 / 10 and CPT coding
• Familiar with medical terminology
• Ability to access and retrieve data in the CAT system
• Administrative and clerical skills
• Critical thinking
• Independent judgment on making decisions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Workers' compensation experience
