OVERVIEW OF POSITION
As an Intake Specialist, you will work with aduls, children, adolescents and their families to enroll them in behavioral health services with Southwest Network. This will include intakes, assessments, clinical formulation, diagnostics, interim service plans, crisis plans, safety plans, and other clinical documentation as needed. You will also be an advocate and resource for families entering the behavioral health system, providing information, guidance and support as needed to assist families in understanding services, the availability of peer support, the 12 Principles of The Arizona Vision for Children, and their rights.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree in behavioral health or related field required; prefer a master's degree with independent or associate level licensure in clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, and / or substance abuse counseling
- One year of behavioral health experience in a Medicaid managed care environment preferred
- One year of intake and assessment experience in a behavioral health-related field preferred
- Must maintain current CPR, First Aid and Therapeutic Options certifications
- Must maintain a valid Arizona state fingerprint clearance card
- Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license
- Must be at least 21 years of age
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of behavioral health case management functions, counseling, and psychiatric treatment modalities and community resources required. Must have knowledge of the spectrum of mental illnesses, DSM-5 codes and descriptions, psychotropic medications and crisis intervention. Must have knowledge and experience formulating clinical diagnostics and making treatment recommendations. Knowledge of community based and family centered behavioral health services preferred. Must maintain good member and family relationships, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to identify priorities and stay organized. Preferred typing skills of 40 WPM.
