Benefits :Small law firm is seeking a paralegal to assist attorneys with ongoing civil litigation and personal injury cases, as well as general office duties. Must be highly organized, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail. We are a small firm and work closely as a team, however, you must be able to work independently and manage cases. Spanish speaking a plus.
Some duties include :
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation cases including preparation of pleadings in partnership with the attorneys, generate subpoenas, monitor discovery requests and filing documents with courts;
- Must be able to identify inconsistencies which would require further investigation (proofreading skills are critical);
- Organize case documents and expedite case requirements;
- Track case deadlines and court dates;
- Work closely with clients to keep them updated and expedite gathering necessary case documents; assisting clients to answer discovery;
- Support trial proceedings by organizing evidence and exhibits; scheduling witnesses; ensuring that clients and witnesses arrive as scheduled;
- Track billable time and generate case status reports;
- Answering phones and scheduling appointments;
General office duties, including scanning and preparation of engagement letters.
We are NOT looking for someone to just do data entry we are looking for a team member who has great attention to detail and will work in partnership with the attorneys to create the best possible result for the client. The perfect candidate will be outgoing, compassionate and a critical thinker.
