The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) founded in 1803, is Ohio's 3rd largest sheriff's office. HCSO has approximately 900 employees dedicated to ensuring the safety of nearly one million residents who call Hamilton County Home.

Our Criminal Intelligence Analysts have the following Job duties :
- Research and analyze criminal activities in support of operational goals and mission to implement and support Intelligence-Led Operations (ILO);
- Provide strategic and tactical intelligence analysis to law enforcement personnel to assist in the identification of on-going and emerging crime patterns and trends, and criminal groups and organizations.
- Analyze and identify methods of operation, possible suspects, violent offenders, known offenders, and threats. Identify hot spots, problem facilities, repeat locations, repeat victims, and repeat offenders.
- Update lists of offenders and criminal activities regularly.
- Monitor parole and probation releases for threat identification. Determine source reliability, accuracy, and integrity; develop investigative leads and links; and distinguish patterns and trends.
- Label and classify files according to standard guidelines into a logical, concise, and understandable order for retrieval if further analysis is needed;
- prepare and present detailed graphical presentations (intelligence reports, charts, graphs), including presentations to outside organizations requesting information on threats to the state;
- Conduct complex research and strategic crime analysis to identify and evaluate patterns and trends using statistical analyses,
- Use strong reasoning and deductive skills to test hypotheses,
- Develop victim and suspect profiles and forecast criminal activity; collect and compile criminal intelligence information and statistics to generate intelligence products.
- Collect, review, and analyze the latest research in policing, law enforcement, crime prevention, crime analysis, criminology, and criminal justice.
- Draft monthly, quarterly reports; statistical reports for grant compliance, Briefing summaries, submission, updates and other related correspondence.
- Establish communication and active channels for information exchange with local, federal, and state law enforcement agencies and community partners.
- Prepares for public speaking events.
- Attend conferences, seminars, symposiums for up-to-date knowledge; persistently identify advance training opportunities.
