A Visual Communications Intern will be responsible for supporting the communications department's graphic design, digital media, and visual content efforts. This position requires creativity, strong design skills, technical proficiency in design software, attention to detail, and achieving high quality visual standards with the intent to learn about the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry and Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company's culture, services, clients, projects, and people.

General responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
- Assist with website management including updating and maintaining the company website, designing and publishing project pages, landing pages, articles, and blog posts
- Support graphic design needs across departments by creating banners, flyers, invitations, presentations, project websites, t-shirts, proposal graphics, social media graphics, logos, branding materials, icons, nameplates, and website graphics
- Assist with photography and image processing including capturing and editing employee headshots, photographing internal events and project-related imagery, and processing and organizing images for use across platforms
- Support videography efforts by capturing interviews and internal events
- Assist in form design and document updates, maintaining and updating company forms and templates for all office locations
- Support online marketing tools including email campaigns using Constant Contact and managing content for Enplug digital signage and Issuu publications
- Create visual content for social media platforms and assist with social media planning and execution
- Collaborate with the Marketing department, Business Development team, and other stakeholders within Clark Nexsen
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Communications team
- Some travel may be required
- Strong passion for visual communications and design
- Actively participates and contributes as a team member in group settings
- Strong visual design skills with keen eye for typography, color, composition, and branding consistency
- Ability to prioritize work under tight deadlines while remaining flexible
- Commitment to working with teams in an engaging, positive way, with ability to work independently when needed
- Genuine interest in learning about the AEC industry and how visual communications supports Clark Nexsen
- Understanding of current design trends and digital media best practices
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Either studying or have obtained an Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Art, or a related field.
- A Visual Communications Intern should be able to effectively utilize current company software programs for word processing, e-mail, and information management. Programs include MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook
- Proficiency in the following programs is required : Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
- Experience in the use of the following programs is desirable : Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro
- Experience with Constant Contact, website content management systems, videography, video editing, photography, and photo editing is desirable
