Job Description
The primary responsibility of a Flight Manager is to oversee all aspects of daily production including ensuring proper headcount is allocated to each production line per plan, meeting or exceeding daily production goals, maintaining customer and consumable inventory in NetSuite, printing pallet labels to match Customer SOPs and supporting line operations if short on headcount. Adhering to all local site GMP’s and Safety regulations is a requirement. Must be able to work on a flexible schedule and travel 90% of the time, when required. Performing eight plus hours per day which could entail working 1st, 2nd or 3rd Shift when required. Prior experience with Manufacturing, CPG Logistics, E-commerce and automated production lines is a plus. The Flight Manager - Mobile Operations - will report directly to the VP of Operations. This position will be responsible for managing all operations at Customer / 3PL facilities.
Responsibilities
- Daily production measured by output per day and machine uptime compared to production plan goal
- Daily scheduling of production based on weekly capacity plan including managing the direct relationship with the staffing agency to ensure the required headcount is on site
- Overseeing productivity of the production team and adjusting headcount to maximize operational line flow
- Daily management of ERP and WMS system related to line production – performing inventory related functions in WMS including Purchase Order Receiving, Sales Order processing, Assembly Builds and Scrap tracking
- Setup of new locations based on engineering and design parameters following FAT (Factory Acceptance Test). OEM on site FAT is not a requirement, but direct oversight of the production line will be required at Customer facilities
- Management of team performance based on KPI metrics and directly working with Operations Team if line headcount adjustments are required
- Maintain and track daily labor hours by line associate to support invoice reconciliation to staffing agencies
- Maintain and follow all local site safety and quality related functions including training and supervision of the production team on all local GMPs
- Training of entire production team on each job function for the Flight location (dekitting, palletizing, loading, QC Checks, etc..)
- Ordering all warehouse supplies (PPE, glue, shrink wrap, etc.)
- Management of machine spare parts, consumable production supplies and packaging inventory
- Engage with Sojo Maintenance on routine and ad-hoc maintenance and repair
- All other duties as assigned
