OverviewShare your recovery experience to help others in your role as a Recovery Specialist at Chestnut. Experience the satisfaction of helping to facilitate self-directed recovery. This is a full-time position. It is based in Granite City, IL but may require travel throughout Bond, Clinton, Madison, St. Clair, and Marion Counties. ResponsibilitiesEngage clients in services prior to their treatment. Help individuals to overcome barriers to recovery by addressing obstacles and by monitoring, consulting, and encouraging during the recovery process. Provide stage-appropriate recovery education. Link clients to recovery communities and ancillary services. Develop natural supports and sobriety-based activities to support long-term recovery. Support interventions that are client-centered, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, strengths-based, and evidence-based. Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health / wellness, and spirituality / connectedness.QualificationsMinimum high school diploma or equivalent and five years’ recovery experience and / or engagement in a recovery network, Crisis Intervention Training (CIT), policing, mental health, substance use, or other social service experience; OR a bachelor’s degree; OR five years’ experience and college combined; OR a CPS (MO), CRSS (IL) or CPRS (IL) or CADC in good standing with the applicable state. Must have valid driver’s license, private auto insurance, and be insurable. Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and an electronic medical record.
