Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an Inventory Specialist for a long-term, day shift role with a plastics manufacturer located in Tigard, OR. The person in this role is responsible for the coordination and supervision of receiving, inventory control of all components, supplies, and materials within the inventory locations, and distribution / logistics of all components, supplies and materials to required Job Kits, locations and personnel.
Pay : $22-$23.50 / hr
Inventory Specialist Responsibilities :
Kit daily work orders in sequence designated by schedule or management.
Maintain organization of Job Kits by size and site location where used.
Maintain / update kitting schedule.
Maintain proper storage methods : identification and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors and physical capabilities of facilities.
Identify all stock using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools and / or other labeling equipment.
Maintain materials in an orderly and accessible manner in all Inventory locations
Disposal of obsolete materials , notify designated Manager / designee for MRP data adjustments
Transact and keep records on the use and / or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
Perform inventory control operations including cycle counts as directed
Operate a forklift
Examine and inspect stock items for wear and defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
Unpack deliveries and verify packing slip with physical delivery. Notify Purchasing of any discrepancies.
Transact receipt in system, fill job requirements, print labels, deliver parts to kit(s), stock, or Quality if inspection is required
Verify quantity passed with quantity received per Job Traveler, transact shipment, and attach copy of Certification of Compliance if required.
Inventory Specialist Qualifications :
2+ years of shipping / receiving / inventory control experience.
Forklift operation experience
Demonstrate proficiency operating a computer MRP System, verifying all information and inputting the correct information as required.
Demonstrate ability to learn MSDS instruction, provide assistance to the Safety Committee and be able to follow detailed guidelines on the process of materials and paperwork.
The ability to cross-train in other departments as required by management.
Ability to learn Lean manufacturing practices.
Physical requirements for majority of shift duties : standing, reaching, lifting (up to 35 lbs without assistance), walking, pushing / pulling carts, step ladder and stair navigation, sitting at workstation, etc.
