A well-established company is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its Accounting Department as a Controller , reporting to the CFO. The Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the finance and accounting organization, ensuring the integrity of financial data and compliance with accounting standards.
Monday-Friday in office in San Antonio, Texas
Salary : $120,000
Key Responsibilities of the Controller :
- Ensure all accounting processes, transactions, and financial reporting comply with GAAP and internal policies.
- Prepare and provide financial reports, projections, analysis, and variance reports in a timely manner.
- Oversee the preparation of annual audit schedules, account reconciliations, and tax schedules to ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain financial, administrative, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Consolidate, analyze, and interpret financial statements and reports.
- Train, develop, and evaluate finance and accounting personnel.
- Coordinate the preparation of tax-related schedules, including income, sales, and property tax returns.
- Assist in managing insurance needs, including general liability, property, and workers' compensation policies.
- Oversee cost accounting functions, including factory cost tracking of materials, labor, and overhead variances, and lead variance review meetings.
- Manage quarterly and year-end inventory procedures and perform inventory analysis for raw materials and finished goods.
- Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies and procedures.
- Coordinate external audits with third-party firms and regulatory agencies.
- Provide leadership in evaluating and implementing strategic financial objectives.
