Job descriptionPrepare balance sheet supporting schedules and reconciliations Prepare and record sales journal entry Provide guidance on Accounts Payable (A / P) and Accounts Receivable (A / R) procedures Reconcile bank accounts Record general ledger transactions Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns Maintain recurring journal entries Maintain prepaid expense and accrued liability accounts Apply appropriate capitalization policies for fixed assets Document client-specific procedures and processes Conduct initial analytical reviews of financial statements Ensure compliance with reporting and filing deadlines Report client's cash position, as necessary Respond promptly to client inquiries and requests Communicate client issues proactively to the Accounting Manager Assist with new client implementations as requested Support additional projects as needed
Description
Position Purpose
The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting tasks to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements for assigned clients. This role reports to an Accounting Manager or Senior Accounting Manager .
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills
- Excellent mathematical and analytical abilities
- High attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates professionalism and maintains confidentiality with clients and staff
- Ability to organize workload, adapt to changes, and meet deadlines under pressure
