Investment Accountant
Oxford Life Insurance, a division of U-Haul International, is seeking a talented Investment Accountant for the Investments department of Oxford. This position will report directly to the Manager of Investment Reporting.
Job Responsibilities :
- Record fixed income securities and mortgage loan activity journal entries and required correspondence.
- Coordinate with Treasury and monitor the cash requirements related to all bank accounts and the preparation of the weekly cash / investment reports.
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly reconciliation of the investment portfolio.
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly / quarterly account reconciliations, research discrepancies, determine source of reconciling items and make recommendations to improve control over the systems.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly / quarterly / and annual GAAP and statutory financial statements, including statutory investment schedules, exhibits, and notes.
- Prepare and develop managerial reports reflecting significant events and / or trends.
- Support and cross train in all investment functions.
- Support the investment department in monitoring portfolio compliance to state and internal guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules for internal / independent auditors. Answer inquiries regarding audit and accounting matters.
- Assist and provide supporting documentation to the Manager of Investment Reporting.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
