The Position
The Medical Sales Consultant will serve as the primary contact for LASIK inquiries and consultations. Duties include educating patients, scheduling appointments, collecting payments, and assisting with patient care. This position does not require a background in ophthalmology, but rather a background in medical / surgical sales.
- Conducts consultation appointments with prospective patients to provide education on services, procedures, and expectations.
- Schedules for LASIK consultations, LASIK surgery appointments, and post-LASIK refractions.
- Prepares pre-operative charts and maintains an inventory of marketing materials and informational packets.
- Tracks and follows up with patient inquiries.
- Performs any applicable diagnostic tests to assist the physician in determining whether the patient is a candidate for refractive surgery.
- Assists with pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Assists with surgeries performed in the laser room.
- Explains financing options and assists patients with financing applications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
