As the Director of Project Management, you will define and refine the processes needed to effectively support project and program management and the software / system development lifecycle. You will review and improve existing processes and strengthen Pega’s evolving Global IT organization. You will provide PMO guidance and support to IT Leadership, Business Operations and Stakeholders.
Who You Are :
You have a successful track record as a PMO professional and leader with experience in building a mature Project Management Office and Agile Delivery practice. You are skilled at leading enterprise level sophisticated IT program portfolios. You excel at influencing and educating reluctant IT leaders and business stakeholders as to the benefits of following PMO and Agile best practices and use of tools to streamline operations and reporting. You have excellent leadership and communication skills and are not afraid to challenge and be challenged in this role.
What You'll Do at Pega :
You will be responsible for building out and maturing the IT Project Management Office and Agile Delivery practice. Establishing a scalable PMO and Agile Delivery organization that follows industry best practices, improves efficiency, and has transparency of operations. You will also be responsible for IT program portfolios and projects for our global business units and cross-functional teams. Implementing tools that provide visible reporting on financial planning, budgeting, resourcing, and total cost of ownership.
What You've Accomplished :
- 10+ years of project management experience with Enterprise level IT projects, and at least 3 years as a PMO and Agile Delivery Leader
- Proven experience growing and running a PMO organization and Agile Delivery practice in a senior leadership capacity
- Skilled at managing cross functional projects in a matrixed organization, where direct authority over the project resources does not exist; ability to effectively influence without authority
- Skilled at implementation of project management tools and best practices
- Expert in Agile Delivery practice methodology
- Strong process and methodology knowledge and experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Ability to quickly assimilate knowledge of technologies and products and translate into terms that all non-technical stakeholders at all levels can understand
- Comprehensive understanding of project management and agile delivery theory and team dynamics
- Able to work effectively and professionally while under pressure
- Skilled communicator with strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills
- Seasoned leader who excels at hiring, mentoring, and managing staff
