Description of Work

Operations Manager will provide specialized support for graduate assistantships and fellowships. Responsibilities will include compliance with UNL, the Graduate College, and Board of Regents policies related to assistantships and fellowship appointments, ensuring that minimum requirements related to stipends, health insurance, tuition benefits and fees are met. Operations Manager will liaison to departments, accounting and payroll on issues / questions related to assistantships / traineeships.

Operations Manager provides executive support to the Office of Graduate Studies and directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean for Graduate Studies. Operations Manager has a wide latitude for exercising sound judgment in the implementation of daily operations, including oversight, coordination and forecasting of business, financial and HR functions, acting as Graduate Studies liaison to the Big Red Business Center who will carry out to the financial and HR requests. Operations Manager will support the development of policies and procedures and implementation of best business practices that directly impact Office of Graduate Studies. Position will supervise one (1) office staff, complete special projects as assigned by the Dean and assist the Dean in program development and long-term strategic planning.
