POSITION OVERVIEW
The Janitor is charged with maintaining a safe, clean working environment for all dealership employees and customers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleans the service and customer areas.
- Performs routine building maintenance in such a manner as to minimize interruption of customers and / or employees.
- Washes all windows, glass doors, and glass panels throughout the service area.
- Mops and cleans service waiting area, offices, technicians’ locker room and lunch room, halls, and shop bathroom.
- Sweeps technician stalls, service department, and body shop floors, halls, and vending areas.
- Cleans all signs, posters, service signs, mirrors, fans, and vending machines.
- Maintains hot beverage areas by cleaning counter surfaces and restocking coffee and related supplies.
- Cleans bathrooms and restocks paper supplies.
- Cleans driveway and sidewalks, removing debris as necessary.
- Empties and cleans lunchroom refrigerators once a week.
- Washes shop truck, inside and out.
- Cleans fork lift and power equipment.
- Empties and cleans all trash and cigarette receptacles.
- Removes all debris from lot.
- Maintains yard equipment and cleaning supplies.
- Cleans oil storage tanks according to procedures.
- Drains and properly disposes of used oil filters.
- Removes any old scrap parts from the shop after checking with the parts manager.
- Returns cores to storage area.
- Assists technicians with oil and water spills and with emptying drain tubs.
- Trims shrubbery and removes debris.
- Runs errands as directed by Service Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
