About this Role
As an Electrician II supporting a regional landfill and multiple transfer stations youll play a key role in keeping essential public services running safely and efficiently. From maintaining high-voltage systems and industrial flares to troubleshooting digital controls and security infrastructure your work directly supports environmental protection public health and community well-being. This role offers variety autonomy and the opportunity to take on meaningful challengeslike modernizing electrical systems and supporting upgrades that improve service equity and sustainability across the region. The Electrician II will supervise electricians and other skilled staff ensuring high-quality safe and efficient work across our facilities. Key responsibilities include scheduling coordinating project planning cost estimating tracking labor and materials coordinating with internal teams and contractors and managing work orders.
About the Team
The Operations team plays a critical role in supporting the divisions mission to deliver safe reliable and sustainable waste management services. This team maintains and improves the infrastructure that keeps our landfill and transfer stations runningensuring compliance with environmental regulations while enhancing safety for workers and the surrounding community. As new facilities are constructed and older ones require upgrades Operations collaborates across the division to meet evolving service needs. Job Duties
What You Will be Doing :
- Supervise and mentor other electricians and / or other skilled workers that assist in maintenance repair or installation of projects.
- Perform and / or supervise maintenance and repairs on (0-1000) volt systems. Experience with switchgear ancillary equipment heavy equipment solar pumps and ignition components.
- Evaluate existing equipment provide recommendations for future electrical needs and estimate costs.
- Install modify and upgrade new and existing electrical systems component parts and other related electrical equipment in compliance with municipal and national electrical codes.
- Maintain troubleshoot and repair power distribution systems including but not limited to lighting distribution and low voltage switching power distribution panels and circuits emergency generator and related heating ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and power transfer switches.
- Maintain troubleshoot and repair electronic digital communications control systems combined electronic fire alarm and smoke control systems closed circuit TV security systems electronic door security controls electronic elevator security controls intercom and paging systems pneumatic tube carrier systems fans pumps and their motor control equipment digital card reader systems cameras parking gates and roll-up doors motion sensors door monitoring systems and kitchen equipment.
- Customer Service and Support : Provide responsive service to internal and external stakeholders and perform hands-on electrical work as needed to support operational needs.
