THE ROLE :
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team in a hands-on operational role. This position is essential for supporting IT systems teams in tracking software spend, controlling costs, and driving data-driven decisions. You will play a crucial role in analyzing unit economics and optimizing cloud financial operations (Cloud FinOps) while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
In this role, you will leverage advanced Excel skills, interacting with tools such as Domo and Salesforce, to analyse, extract data and produce dynamic reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights. You will be responsible for monitoring software usage, analyzing cost drivers, and identifying opportunities for cost optimization. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and monitoring tools such as Datadog would be highly beneficial.
This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about using data to enhance business processes and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently without constant guidance.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Monitor and analyze unit economics, focusing on cost drivers and profitability metrics.
Optimize Cloud FinOps by tracking cloud usage, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring budget alignment.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Google sheets / excel, Domo, and Salesforce to provide daily / weekly / monthly visibility into software spend and savings.
Conduct financial modeling, and forecasting to support cost control initiatives.
Collaborate with IT Systems teams to enhance operational efficiency and support strategic sourcing decisions.
Support with maintaining data pipelines, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs).
Monitor software usage and contract utilization, identifying trends and actionable insights.
Provide ad-hoc analyses on strategic initiatives to evaluate their impact on business outcomes.
Perform data transformation and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Communicate complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner to stakeholders at all levels.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, data transformation, and pivot tables.
Experience with Domo (or
Similar visualization tools) for data visualization and dashboard creation.
Understand how to extract data from API endpoints
Basic understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and cloud financial operations (Cloud FinOps).
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog for tracking performance metrics.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Proven experience in financial analysis, operational analytics, and cost tracking.
Hands-on experience with unit economics analysis and profitability metrics.
Experience in supporting IT systems teams or involvement in cloud cost optimization is a plus.
Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently without constant guidance.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a strategic, data-driven mindset.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
