Job descriptionB.S. degree in civil engineering or related field. 0 to 2 years of progressive experience in the geotechnical engineering field. EIT license is a plus. Effective verbal and written communication. Driver’s License Required Possess a high capacity for self-motivation and be able to apply engineering knowledge to a variety of projects. This position occasionally requires carrying 50-70 pounds. We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a Junior Geotechnical Staff Engineer position in our Chattanooga, TN office.
Duties :
- Perform geotechnical field investigations. This may include boring layouts, drilling inspections, and running geophysical surveys.
- Coordinate and assist with managing the scope of services provided by subcontract drilling firms.
- Perform visual classification and laboratory testing of soil samples.
- Perform geotechnical field inspections during the construction phase, as needed.
- Assist in preparing geotechnical engineering reports.
- Participate in meetings with design team, stakeholders, and clients.
Requirements
Salary Range : $20 - $28 per hour
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
