Responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance of the Central Monitoring System environment.
Assist the System Administrator with workstation, laptop, and server administration setups.
Provides accurate, timely and creative solutions to end user regarding computer and networking problems of moderate to sophisticated nature to ensure user productivity.
Carries out the installation and maintenance of Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and voice networking systems, assistance and direction provided from a Senior level resource.
Troubleshoots network problems and takes steps to resolve network issues, while working with a Senior level resource.
Assists in performing existing network system analysis and evaluation and prepares concise reports as to the results including recommendations for updates, repairs, and reconfigurations where necessary.
Monitors network connections to ensure optimal network performance.
Coordinates with Corporate technical support on any steps necessary to ‘fine-tune’ the network.
Schedules, plans, and performs periodic scheduled maintenance to ensure systems are operating at optimal levels.
Provides First tier PC / server support and troubleshooting.
Provides status reports and problem summaries and project status as required.
Develops, maintains, and promotes standard operating procedures.
Responds to situations where standard procedures have failed in isolating or fixing problems with equipment or software installations, equipment and gaming device moves and configuration changes.
Support installations, de-installations, and relocations of video gaming devices to ensure proper network connectivity. (Moved this sentence up from bottom to because it relates to the requirement above)
Assists in the evaluation of business problems, researches and recommends vendor packages, and implements required software.
Assists in the evaluation of client computing packages and equipment for new personnel as well as in the implementation and testing of prototypes.
Consults with management and staff regarding PC / server and LAN systems and equipment problems or malfunctions and recommends solutions.
Maintains and applies the existing performance monitoring tools, SolarWinds and BMC – Patrol Zabbix and Tivoli.
Ensure that all requirements of a SSAE18 audit are maintained and followed
Uses ticketing software for planned and unplanned outages and system maintenance.
Assists the System Administrator to build and maintain user account administration for local applications and server domains.
Must be versatile and proficient on multiple platforms and technologies including but not limited to communication equipment, validation equipment, and various vendor and manufacturer terminals.
Communicate effectively with Internal and external customers.
Understand assigned jurisdiction memory clear policy and ability to perform memory clears as needed.
Qualifications
Two year degree, Technical Institute Certificate with certifications in networks
1-2 years experience, or 3-5 years experience without a degree
Extensive knowledge of Windows operating system, CISCO systems, Linux, Fortinet systems, performance monitoring tools such as Zabbix & Tivoli.
Knowledge of Red Hat Linux Enterprise command line commands
Must have strong mechanical reasoning skills and ability to work independently.
